Reviews
I expected a lot based on reviews and was hoping for some of the best Italian pasta we've had but it was mixed and we've had much better in our travels.
The 3 smoked fish was excellent and they split the order on 3 plates - a nice touch. 16€ 5star
The bacon carbonara was decent (noodles too soft)-16€ 3.5star
The seafood pasta was quite good - 22€ 4star
The special black squid pasta was terrible and extremely salty, wife couldn't eat it, I tried and the salt was overwhelming- 1 star 25€
Seafood Linguine - 7/10, it was good but i had better
Tagliatelle with red shrimp and black truffle - 9/10, it was really good, clean and flavorful at the same time.
Fresh pasta with black truffle - 8/10
Linguine with pistachios and prawns - 9/10
*staffs were all nice.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
This restaurant was the most disappointing dining experience of our entire trip. Even though they had available tables, they refused to serve us without a reservation and were initially quite rude about it. It was only after they finally realized I had a reservation that they allowed us in.
Once we were seated, the smell of trash was overpowering, and we had to contend with flies and mosquitoes, resulting in some unfortunate mosquito bites.
The service was lackluster at best, as the staff appeared disinterested and tired, going through the motions without any genuine enthusiasm.
As for the food, it was merely average and certainly not worth the price we paid. I would strongly recommend considering other dining options in Taormina.
Overall great experience. Price quality ratio is good taking into account the generally high prices of restaurants in Taormina. Pasta alla norma (16€) was delicious. Tiramisu (8€) was OK but not the best I’ve had. The staff was really nice and calm. They have large selection of wines. We tried one white wine from Etna mountain and it was great (30€/bottle). I recommend to make a reservation or arrive early in the evening.
They were able to accommodate us with short notice which was appreciated. Big wine list with helpful suggestions. Service all around was excellent. Special appetizer of artichoke, shrimp, cheese and pine nuts was good once you put all the ingredients on a fork - otherwise, it lacked a cohesive flavor. Shrimp cocktail was good - flavorful shrimp and sauce was between thousand island and cocktail. The seafood risotto was amazing - tasty and huge. They will serve it for 1 person despite what the menu says. The special dorado fish was good although the potatoes were cold. They deboned it for you tabkeside which was nice. I added salt and olive oil. The special ravioli with ricotta was good - not 25€ good though. The almond cake was a perfect almost end. A free lemoncello was the perfect end.
This restaurant was recommended to us by a local hotel. From the outside it doesn't look very special but the food, the owners and their hospitality was amazing. Out of seven nights we ate there for four nights, we couldn't get enough. You need to book to avoid disappointment. Photos of an empty plate says it all. If you like your pasta and your seafood you won't be disappointed.
The dining experience was exquisite, with amazing food complemented by excellent service. The staff's professionalism and friendliness added to the overall enjoyment. Highly recommend this spot for a delightful culinary treat.
Wow! What a delightfully delicious restaurant. Sébastien & the team welcomed us treated us with kindness. Their recommendations were spot on. Wonderful.
